Hailu Tadeg has over 20 years of experience in pharmaceutical sector development in Ethiopia, including pharmaceutical systems assessment, workforce development, regulatory systems strengthening, and building capacity for local production, pharmaceutical supply, and service improvement within the public and private sectors. Before joining MSH, Hailu was the Chief of Party and Country Lead for the USAID Promoting the Quality of Medicines Plus (PQM+) and its predecessor PQM program implemented by the United States Pharmacopeial (USP) in Ethiopia. Hailu previously served as the Country Program Director for the USAID Systems for Improved Access to Pharmaceutical Services (SIAPS) program implemented by MSH. He also served as Deputy Chief of Party, Institutional Capacity Building Coordinator and Senior Program Advisor to USAID/SIAPS and its predecessor programs. Hailu was part of the teaching staff in different positions at Jimma University. He has published more than eight papers in peer-reviewed journals and contributed to more than ten abstracts for various scientific conferences.
Hailu holds a Bachelor of Pharmacy, a master’s degree in pharmaceutics and a master’s degree in public health.
