OneHealth Tool
Without evidence-informed systems for setting health coverage priorities, low and middle-income countries (LMICs) are at greater risk of suboptimal resource allocation. Poor priority setting can also lead to increased health care costs. The OneHealth Tool, developed by Avenir Health, is an open-source software that countries can use for strategic national health planning and costing.
This brief details the support resources available for using the OneHealth tool, its bottom-up approach to costing health services, and the experience of implementing it in Bangladesh. The brief also covers the considerations that need to be made for anyone considering using the OneHealth tool and recommendations that came out of implementation experience in Bangladesh.
