Key Factors for Multisectoral Coordination to Combat Antimicrobial Resistance in Mali: A National Analysis

Antimicrobial resistance (AMR) remains a pressing challenge in Mali. In 2018, the country developed and approved a multisectoral national action plan (NAP-AMR) to improve coordination between the health, agriculture, and environment sectors as part of efforts to combat AMR.

This technical highlight describes MTaPS’ technical assistance to improve multisectoral coordination (MSC) on AMR by supporting the operation of the Multisectoral Coordination Group on Antimicrobial Resistance (GCMN-RAM). MTaPS provided support to develop terms of reference, establish AMS and IPC technical working groups, strengthen capacity, and coordinate regular meetings.
