Enhancing Rational Use of Antimicrobials in Jordan

Leveraging the latest advancements in antibiotic management and increasing adherence to locally developed rigorous guidelines enhances antimicrobial stewardship, leading to improved patient outcomes and the containment of antimicrobial resistance. Standardizing protocols and procedures for antibiotic prophylaxis and treatment using evidence-based science can help reduce the misuse and abuse of antimicrobials. This technical brief summarizes MTaPS’ efforts to support the Jordan Ministry of Health (MOH) in developing and implementing Rational Use of Antibiotics (RUA) protocols and procedures to better standardize the use of antibiotics across health facilities in the country.
